We Stand With Immigrant Children and Their Mothers!

Help Life Span raise funds to send a team of 6 Spanish speaking staff (2 immigration attorneys, 2 legal advocates and 2 counselors) to Texas to join the CARA Family Detention Pro Bono Project for at least 300 hours of assistance to immigrants. Life Span’s work will help end the incarceration of children and their mothers and seek safe and appropriate immigration relief for these families.

Funds raised will be used to cover costs of travel and lodging for our team as they work tirelessly on behalf of families at the border. Any extra funds raised will be used to buy needed supplies for the families.

Be part of positive change! Help create safety for immigrant families at the border! Take a stand today!

Half Marathon Run for Life Span

“At least 16 people were killed last year in domestic-related incidents in Chicago, according to police statistics through late December. In recent years, 2007 had the most domestic violence homicides, with 44.” – Chicago Tribune, 1/24/12

Life Span was founded in 1978 to address the crucial need for services for women abused by spouses or intimate partners and has been at the forefront of the domestic violence movement by combining legal and counseling assistance to clients.

For the past 34 years they have continually increased their programming, staff, and the services provided to thousands of women and children each year.

We will be running in the Spring Half Marathon on May 20, 2012 in Schaumburg. All the money we raise will go toward helping Life Span continue to provide education, counseling and legal support that will change lives for the better.

Help us out by donating to this amazing cause! :)

Runners: Natalie Kempa & Stacy Bayner (if you’d like to help us raise money and run with us let us know… the more the merrier!)
